Law "Revue": A Quick Survey of Law School Vids

Youtube is replete with law school related shorts. Unfortunately, the vast majority of them leave you thinking of that scene from Billy Madison in which after giving a more than pathetic and off-base answer, Billy is told, "Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."

But I know you're too busy to wade through these videos. So I've done a survey for you, and plucked out only the best, and highlighted the worst for your comparison.

Almost emblematic of their dedication to academics (and not sweetness), Columbia Law "Revue" has the most and the worst videos. (Emphasis added.)

Thumbs Down:
Not So Bad:
Video Picking on Law School Archetypes
A Couple of Randoms
Excellent:
In the end, all of these shorts are wanting -- it makes me long for the accuracy and intelligence of "The Paperchase." Can we get a re-make? Perhaps with Will Ferrell, Dave Chapelle, andTara Reid? The law school experience and the practice of the law seem to be so misunderstood by the general public -- they picture lawyers coming late to the courtroom with a briefcase full of money out of breath from chasing an ambulance. With just one good movie, we could change people's opinions. Anyone have a script?

  2. Hey Jen,

Thanks for your comments. I had never seen them, but just finished both the Civil Procedure and Torts Shuffle.

If anyone is interested, they're songs that review courses, literally, the entire course.

  4. I've seen that Mr. Show law school sketch. It's good. Wish they'd shown the whole series down here in Australia.

I've got a whole bunch of clips from my law school's revue - a couple of them went viral, I got some paid jobs based on my work on them.

Do a search for "UQ Law Revue" ... http://au.youtube.com/results?search_query=UQ+law+revue&search_type=&aq=f
